Renault Scala has finally launched the Indian land at a base price of Rs 6.98 lakhs. Renault Scala will compete in the C segment of sedans in Indian auto industry. Based on Nissan Sunny, Scala is the fifth car from the French auto major in India, after Fluence sedan (premium), Koleos SUV (premium), Pulse hatchback and Duster SUV.

Engine options for the Scala are a 1.5-litre dCi diesel motor and 1.5-litre petrol unit. We drove the diesel model, which produces a decent 84.8bhp and 20.4kgm of torque, while the petrol pumps out 97.6bhp and 13.6kgm of torque.

The 2012 Scala gets new headlamps which get a smoked finish while the front grille and bumper feature the Renault family face, with the badging of the French automaker being displayed prominently on the grille. The rear of the car gets a refreshed tail lamps. On the inside, Renault has given the Scala lighter tone colors on the dashboard and other trims, to make the already airy cabin premium looking when compared to the Nissan Sunny. The redesigning has happened at Renault India’s Mumbai styling studio.
A 2+2 year / 80,000 km warranty deal as well as the Renault ‘Complete Care’ package will also be provided with the Renault Scala.
