Official and Confirmed - Honda working on Diesel powered Brio based Sedan for Indian market




Honda Motors India Limited has been lacking on two issues in the Indian market and those were the sole reasons for fast losing of its market share in India. The first and foremost was lack of Diesel engines and the other one was a limited line up for the fast changing Indian auto market.

Seems like Honda is working on both the above mentioned issues, while Honda's iDtec engine is under progress and will be rolled out first in Honda City sedan in April 2013, Honda has also confirmed that the Japanese car maker is also working on rolling out new models for the Indian market which will be developed and produced in the Indian market however could also be exported to other countries including Thailand and others from India.

In the latest conversations with Honda Motors India CEO Takanobu San, the company is working on Brio based sedan and will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Toyota Etios and Mahindra's Compact Verito. As per the company, Honda will again utilize its caliber for reliability of Honda along with top notch quality interiors coupled with a competitive price tag for launching their products at par with Dzire and Etios.

In another interview, Takanobu San said that the company is also working on an Jazz  based SUV, which will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Renault's Duster and Ford's upcoming EcoSport. Click here to view more details on the same.
