After launching the Ford EcoSport in Brazil, it was unveiled at Go Further event in Europe and will soon be launched in India and China in 2013, said Mr. Gary Johnson, Vice President, Manufacturing Operations, Ford Motors. The company is banking huge on the latest product - EcoSport.
The sources close to the company said that the car will have a 1.0L Petrol engine which is a new refined engine, first to be installed in EcoSport. This engine, as per sources will be equivalent to Ford's 1.6L petrol engine. The Diesel engine will be a 1.5L engine which is currently fitted in Fiesta.
Ford EcoSport has added to the fact that with 200mm ground clearance it also has a 550mm water wading capacity - which means including the side sill and the opening of doors the clearance is 550mm which is massive and will be a boon to drive without caring for water in extreme monsoons.
The car will be unveiled for Indian market in early 2013.
