More details revealed for Datsun low cost cars in India



Dastun has already planned to enter the Indian market and has plans to launch small cars - first two will be hatchback - first one would compete with the likes of Alto and Eon and the second one would be with the likes of i10, WagonR etc. 

The third car would be would be a sedan and here are the images, specifications of sedan.





Meanwhile, Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has confirmed the revival of the Datsun brand, providing new details on the list of markets and nature of the product. The Datsun brand will be used expand the group’s presence in India, Russia and Indonesia with low cost models.

A Russian publication Carobka.ru claims that it has managed to procure early sketches of Datsun’s first budget sedan. If this news holds any water, this would be the first official glimpse of what Datsun has in store for us.

The first model could be a low cost vehicle along the lines of the Bajaj RE60.Renault-Nissan is said to be working on an A-Platform to build cars smaller than the Micra. Media reports have also claimed that Nissan and Ashok Leyland are working together on an affordable passenger vehicle. The third possibility is the V-Platform’s extended usage to manufacture cars like the Alto, Eon and Wagon R.

Renault Nissan has 25% share in Datsun and will be used for manufacturing low cost cars for passengers shifting from two wheelers to Cars while Nissan will manufacture the high end cars.

Codenamed NKD 2196, the budget sedan is based on an extended platform of the LADA Granta. The LADA brand is owned by AvtoVAZ – a Russian automaker.The sketches reveal an aggressive front fascia of the NKD 2196. The face of seems to be influenced by LADA Granta’s front fascia with a trademark Datsun hexagonal grille. Between the hexagonal grille, one can see the sketches of the new Datsun logo.
