Mahindra Compact Xylo to be launched in September 2012 with price tag apprx 6 lakh

Mahindra has been in news now for long on launching the Compact Xylo which was said to be launched in 2012. The car maker has been in news since long time now after the successful launch of Cheetah - XUV 5OO. This has been a successful year for Mahindra since the Utility vehicles is the segment which is growing the most. Mahindra with mostly SUV's in its portfolio will the one most affected by the trend. 

Moreover, the car maker had just one passenger car option - Verito which has also been relaunched in July and hence all its variants starting from Bolero to Scorpio to XUV 5OO will be in demand. The upcoming new Compact Xylo is now expected to be launched in September 2012 and is expected to be launched with 1.5L mHawk engine in India with a very competitive price of approximately Rs 6 Lakh. The car will be competing with the likes of recently launched Premier Rio and Renault Duster. 

The Mini Xylo will be powered by a 3 cylinder 1500cc motor is courtesy a twin turbo set-up that enables the engine to pump out a healthy power output of 100BHP@3750 RPM and generate a max. torque of 240 Nm between1600-1800 RPM. The powerplant of the mini Xylo is BS V compliant and the DOHC 3 cylinder engine tips the scales at merely 185 kgs. The mini Xylo should have a fuel efficiency figure of about 18 kmpl.
