Renault Duster grabbed 4,000 bookings on the launch day, 04th July 2012. The company launched the car in diesel as well as petrol variants with prices starting from Rs 7.19 Lakhs to Rs 11.29 Lakhs.
Mr. Marc Nissaf, Managing Director disclosed that the company has received 4000 bookings of the launch day itself and it has been the biggest hit since the time of Renault's journey with India. Underlining the prediction that India would become the third largest automobile market by 2020, he said there was enough room for competition and the best product would surpass others.
Renault would open its 100th outlet in the country by 2013 end, with the company already opening 55th outlet by June end this year, he claimed. Renault's Chennai facility would export to the UK by the end of this year, he said, adding, he would look upon South Africa and other countries later.
Asked about the company's investment in the Chennai facility, he said it was planned to invest Rs 4,500 crore by February 2015.
