BMW has started revealing the spy images of this car, the new 3 series bound for India. BMW's 3 series which is the bread and butter model for India is slated for a totally new car the details of which are mentioned below.
The new 3, which is a generation newer to the outgoing model, is wider by 37 mm on front and by 47mm at rear, is longer by 93mm and the wheelbase has grown by 50mm. It may be noted that a wide range of BMW 3 series buyers in India hand over the ultimate driving machine to their chauffeur and confine themselves to rear seats. This is where the new 3 will really score as it offers 18 mm of more legroom and 15 mm of additional knee room along with 8 mm of extra headroom for the rear passengers. The new car is also lighter by 40kg.
The 2012 BMW 3 Series will be sold in India in four variants-– 318d, 320d, 320i and 328i. However, the 328i and 320d will come first, followed by more variants at a later stage. While there is no Corporate Edition of this car on sale internationally, we are quite sure that BMW India will soon start working on the CEs.
