Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Zdi catches a waiting period of 9 months due to shortage of Alloy wheel supply

If you plan to buy a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Ldi or a Vdi variant, you may have to wait for approximately 5-6 months to get the vehicle delivered. However, at the same time if you plan to book a Ertiga Zdi, the top end variant, you may have to wait over 9 months, i.e. you will get the vehicle delivered around March 2013.

The delay is not huge demand of top end variant of Diesel model, the actual reason is delay in supplying of Alloy wheels for the top end variant. The top end variant comes with the company fitted alloy wheel, which are sourced from Thailand based supplier who is unable to cope up with the sudden spurt in orders of the top end variant. Even the top end petrol variant attracts a waiting period of around 3 months, however the lower end gasoline variants could be bought within a week.

Apart from alloy wheels, the ZDi has additional features like driver seat height adjustment, rear defogger and wash wipe, and two airbags over the VDi. However, if it’s only alloy wheels you want, you can fit them on the VDi from Maruti’s accessories division – a set of five alloys costs Rs 21,000 approximately.
