Maruti Suzuki yet to be launched 800 will be coming any time before Diwali. Infact, Diwali is the time in India where in car makers earn huge Sales revenue, considered to be the auspicious occasion for buying new things and even cars too. Therefore, there's gonna by a huge number of launches this year we see. Maruti Suzuki revived 800 will be one of them.
The car maker has not yet announced much details of the car, but have said that the older version will not go on for sale any more, the production of which have already stopped in India. The newer version was seen testing around and spy images are here. The car from the front looks like Alto and the rear looks like an A-Star.
This new car, to be called the Alto 800 (codename: YE3), is based on the Alto, but with significant modifications done to make it cheaper. Not to be confused with the Alto sold in Japan, the new Alto 800 is based on the current generation Alto (YG4) but with a new body and interior. The Alto 800 is likely to share a lot of running gear with the current car. It will also have a basic but cost-effective MacPherson strut setup in front and a coil spring torsion beam axle at the rear.
The new Alto 800 will hit showrooms later this year. Expect Maruti to price the new Alto 800 slightly above Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom), Delhi.
