Bajaj launches Pulsar 200 NS in Maharashtra at Rs 84,096

Almost a decade after it revived Bajaj Auto from the brink of disaster, the sports bike Pulsar is out in a new version- naked sport or NS. The company launched the 200 cc model of the bike in Pune at an ex-showroom price of 84,096. It will be available in various cities of Maharashtra in June, starting with Pune and Mumbai, and will be available nationally from August, K Srinivas, President, two wheelers, Bajaj Auto said.

"We have started dispatches to Mumbai and Pune," Mr Srinivas said. "We have close to 150 bookings in Mumbai and 60 in Pune. We will open up in Kolhapur, Solapur and Nashik this month. From August, it will be available nationally," he added.

Maharashtra is among the largest markets for sports bike (150 cc and above), which contributes 27% of the motorcyle industry.

Though the auto industry in India classifies over 150 cc bikes in the sports category, there is hardly any motorsports in most cities and towns where they sell. The bikes are mostly used by the young working population as commute vehicles. Pulsar 200 NS has a central mono suspension and disk brakes for both wheels, and three -spark plugs for the engine.
