BMW Mini launched in India at Rs 25.5 Lac with Infinity Cars being first dealer for India in Mumbai



Iconic British brand Mini, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo in January, will hit the Indian roads by May.The popular small car from BMW was initially set to be priced at Rs 24 lakh. However, due to a change in duty structure post Budget (the excise duty for cars above 1,500 cc has gone up to 27% from the earlier 25%), Mini will now be launched at a starting price of Rs 25.5 Lac.

Infinity Cars is the first showroom which was inaugurated in Mumbai on Thursday and two in Delhi are in the pipeline. BMW plans to open 5-6 exclusive Mini showrooms in the country this year including in places such as Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Pune.Meanwhile, here’s the list of prices of the Mini range of hatchbacks, in Mumbai, all prices being ex-showroom.

Mini Cooper: INR 25.5 Lac
Mini Cooper S: INR 28.6 Lac
Mini Convertible: INR 30.7 Lac
Mini Countryman: INR 32.8 Lac

India is the 100th country where Mini is being launched. The completely built unit is being imported from the UK. “We will start delivery by May,” said Schaaf. “We have already got 100 bookings. We plan to deliver 20-30 cars a month.” Mini has sold two million units worldwide ever since its launch.
