Israeli embassy car explodes in New Delhi, 2 hurt - Images



An Israeli embassy car on Monday blew up in the Indian capital New Delhi, injuring two people, but the cause of the explosion was not immediately known, police said.

Incident took place in the high security zone near the Prime Minister residence at 7-Race Course Road. According to eyewitnesses, car was engulfed in fire after an explosion. Investigations are on to ascertain the nature and causes of explosion.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed the incident but refused to say whether it was an explosion in the CNG cylinder or a blast.

Two people were injured when the car exploded, police spokesman Rajan Bhagat, adding there were no details about their condition.

The vehicle was carrying Israeli diplomatic licence plates, Vinod Tokas, a police officer at the scene
