Ford to launch B Max five seater MPV in India, part of Ford's eight vehicle launch strategy by 2015 - Images

Ford might launch the five seater MPV in India which was earlier unveiled at Geneva Motor Show. The B-Max, a five-seat, five-door MPV that replaces the slow-selling Fusion in Europe may be one of Ford's eight new vehicles for our market.

The B-Max concept that was first revealed at the last Geneva Motor Show measured 4.04 metres and it's quite likely that the production model could measure a little less than that. And if it does manages to make actual production model below 4000 mm or 4.0 m, it will get rid of additional excise duty as per Indian excise norms.

The all-new Ford B-Max is built upon Ford Fiesta underpinnings but aims to squeeze the maximum amount of interior space from these compact dimensions with its cab-forward design that results in a short bonnet and tall stance.

The B-Max will get both petrol and diesel motors, including the three-cylinder 1.0-litre EcoBoost with 118 bhp from the EcoSport and most likely a 1.5-litre Duratorq diesel motor with 90 bhp, identical to the one that powers the Ford Fiesta saloon in India.

The car will be launched in Europe later this year, however for India, the car will be seen on roads some where in next year 2013. As per our assumption, car would be priced at Rs 6-8 Lac.
