Teased : 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander to debut at Geneva Motor Show

Mitsubishi is set to launch a new production vehicle – which may likely be the successor to the current Outlander — at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The image shows a face of the crossover – possibly the new Outlander. However the company refers to the concept as an ‘an innovative premium vehicle’. A teaser picture of the vehicle shows a similarity to the PX-MiEV II SUV concept unveiled at the Tokyo motor show last November. The Concept PX-MiEV II was Mitsubishi Motors’ idea for a mid-size plug-in hybrid PHEV model that offers a long cruising range demanded by mid-size and larger vehicles.

Expect more details on the next-generation Outlander – assuming the name remains intact – to emerge closer to its show debut in March. Mitsubishi plans on rolling out the vehicle in markets around the world throughout the course 2012, starting with the European market.
