PCP Terra homes, the emerge of a new class amongst vehicles will soon be reality on Indian roads. The car maker Paracoat, has displayed its capabilities at the ongoing Auto Expo at Pragati Maidan for the general people to create awareness and generate their interest in the cars.
It was earlier reported in the media that Automotive component maker Paracoat Products (PCP) today said it will roll out 90 'PCP Terra Home Cars', in the price range of Rs 31 - 37 Lac based on the needs of the customer by the end of the next fiscal.
The company's plant near Haridwar in Uttarakhand has a capacity to produce 300 cars but initially only 90 cars will be assembled. The first 90 vehicles will be brought in CKD condition from Siam Motor Homes in Thailand and will be assembled here in India."We will be importing the complete knock-down (CKD) kits from Thailand, but in one year time we plan to localise approximately 60 per cent," he added.
The delivery time is nearly 10-12 weeks from the date of order. The first delivery in India will be done around mid 2012, it added.
PCP Terra motor home cum office is based on a standard pick-up truck, like Mahindra Genio, and installed with frame made of fibreglass (FRP). It is considered ideal for seven persons and is fitted with all required facilities. The company plans to expand capacity to 500 cars by 2016.
