Maruti Suzuki raises vehicle prices by 0.3-3.4 percent

India's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki raises the car prices by 0.3 percent to 3.4 percent. In value terms, the price hike will be in Rs 2,400 to Rs 17,000 except for the Dzire models.

The revised prices will be effective from 16th January 2012. The company has revised the rates on account of hike in input prices due to rupee depreciation.

The sharp depreciation in rupee in the Oct-Dec quarter has also made importing auto components expensive, and that is another reason for the price hike.
