Ford India has been doing aggressive promotion of the Ford Ecosport from last few weeks, using the hide and seek marketing tool. The automaker was reported to launch its micro-site a few days back but went undercover unexpectedly. Thereafter, the firm also sent media invites to some of the bloggers and online portals mentioning a new product launch on 4th January, 2011. That indicates the unveiling of the Ecosport as there is no other new product lined up for the country. Speculations are also suggesting it’s unwrapping at Delhi Auto expo. Overall, the Indian car enthusiast will surely see the mini SUV running on Indian roads. By the time it will be launched in India it will be in strong opposition with Renault Duster.
The Ford Ecosport has been popular compact SUV in Brazilian market where it took its birth. The four-door mini SUV is based on the Fusion car model which is famous in the Europe hence the US auto major added it with sporty look and features to avoid the similarity.
As far as the appearance and dimensions of the SUV are concerned, the Ecosport will fall somewhere around four meter range and look similar to hatchback. It does not mean that it will be a standard hatch but a mini SUV swith sporty stance, spare wheel mounted on tailgate, higher ground clearance, bold front view and 17 inch alloy wheels.
Overall, the Brazilian winner will be brought to India in all probability however, some of the version may be dropped and a new diesel avatar may emerge for India. Let us see the offering that are available in Brazil and those which are most probable to land in India as well.

04 January, 2012: Ford India has displayed the much-awaited and hyped mini SUV Ford Ecosport in Delhi amidst much fanfare. The new Ford car will come loaded with 1.0 Ecoboost, 3 cylinder, petrol engine in the country. The Ford Ecosport price has not been disclosed by the auto maker.

The Ford Ecosport price is expected to be between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh due to its compact design and segment trend. If the speculated price proves to be same, the SUV will see huge success in the country as has been witnessed in Brazil.
