General Motors has just unveiled two products, Sail hatchback and MPV, brought in from the joint venture partner SAIC’s portfolio. These vehicles will be launched in the market this year. General Motors is not letting out more details on the same and answers are not being taken up, though it is expected to be taken up some time.
Powering this new hatchback will be the 1.2-litre petrol engine that does duty in the Beat petrol with the possibility of a Multijet diesel finding its way into the engine bay later on. The Sail will be launched here during the second half of next year.
CHEVY SAIL
- Sail has been reworked in Banglore over the last one and half year to meet the requirements in India.
- Car has leather interiors , CD player with AUX
- Sail will have 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine.
- Chevy might have to borrow diesel for this hatch.
- The Sail is a decently successful model in the global market.
- GM may also bring the sedan Sail and possibly replace the Aveo in the coming months.
CHEVY SAIC CN 100
- Every manufacture believes that MPV or MUV market is growing and deserves attention.
- Yesterday we saw Nissan Evalia, Hyundai Hexa Space and now this Chevy SAIC.
- SAIC is being developed considering India and other emerging markets.
- Toyota Innova will certainly have lot of competition soon.
