The Japanese automobile major Toyota Motor Corporation has reportedly confirmed that it will expand investment in Thailand with the goal of focusing on automobile technology to meet future demands including minimising the impact from natural disasters.
The company plans to maintain its strong presence in the region and work with partners to make cars that are minimally affected by floods or tsunamis.
The company had earlier planned the production for 600,000 units in the current year but owing to the recent floods that hit the country and subsequently the production , the production levels fell to 505 of the existing capacity. As per the company reports the plant will be in full production capacity during January 2012.
Toyota unveiled six environmentally-friendly concept cars including the Fun-Vii (Fun Vehicle interactive internet) that heralds a future where people, cars and society are connected.
