Shanghai GM recalls 869 imported Chevrolet Captiva SUVs due to faulty fuel tanks

Shanghai GM would recall apprx. 869 Chevrolet Captiva built during  2006, 2007 and 2008 due to faulty fuel tanks.

The vehicles were produced by GM Daewoo, a unit of U.S. carmaker General Motors based in the Republic of Korea (ROK), and were imported by the China-based Shanghai GM, said a statement posted on the official website of the regulator, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

SGM is now contacting the owners of Captiva jeeps to recall the vehicles for repair. The AQSIQ will order a halt to imports of Captiva jeeps made by GM Daewoo. It will also require quality inspection agencies to examine the company's other auto types.
