Helmets to be made necessary if you want to fill petrol in your two-wheeler

Soon Helmets will be made compulsory for all the two-wheeler owners who will go to petrol pump to get their tank refueled. The government has decided and special instructions to be given to all the petrol pump owners that if a person is spotted without a helmet, the petrol pump can deny him for refueling his vehicle.

This process will be on a temporary base for first two weeks to create awareness to the people after which the process will be mandatory and a petrol pump owner will not refuel the vehicle.

People from different backgrounds have expressed their views differently. There has been mixed reactions overall. However, A senior official with the City Police admits that it would not be legally standing to deny someone fuel for his or her vehicle. But the order issued by District Collector in his capacity as District Magistrate for enforcing the Motor Vehicle Act can be justified, he said.
