Eterniti Hemera to bow in Beijing in April 2012

The UK’s Eterniti surprised the auto industry at last September’s Frankfurt Motor Show when it revealed its first concept, a super SUV dubbed the Hemera. At the time there was precious little known about it other than it was based on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

The Hemera is powered by the Cayenne’s 4.8 V8 but it has been tuned to over 600 horsepower. All of the body panels except for the roof and the window frames have been modified and the suspension has been thoroughly gone over. As a result, it is lower, wider, and has a lower center of gravity than the Cayenne it is based on.

Eterniti plans a first-year run of 50 Hemeras, with 90 percent of them booked for China. The last five of them will be split between Russia, the Middle East and Europe. They could also be paying a little more than previously reported, with the Frankfurt price tag of £150,000 ($240,000 U.S.) now quoted as "above £150,000."
