Chevrolet Sail Hatchback spied in Nashik - to be unveiled at 2012 Auto Expo

Look out this space for yet another spied images of Chevrolet Sail Hatchback. The car will be displayed at 2012 Auto Expo. General Motors India will replace the Aveo U-VA hatchback and the Aveo sedan with the Sail hatchback and sedan twins sometime in 2012. Chevrolet Sail hatchbacks and sedans have already begun doing the testing rounds on Indian roads, albeit with plenty of camouflage. Both the cars are models that are already on sale in China and have Chinese underpinnings. The U-VA and Aveo incidentally had Korean underpinnings and are actually models developed by the now defunct Korean automaker, Daewoo.

Sail is the first car to roll out from China via the GM-SAIC JV. Developed in China, the car is meant to cater to China, as well as other emerging markets, including, of course, India. Being developed with cost in mind, the Sail will have its price as one of its USPs and is expected to undercut rivals like the Swift in terms of price by a good margin.
