Mercedes-Benz will launch the 2013 SL hard-top Convertible at the Detroit Motor Show next month. However, what looks like a brochure of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SL has already leaked on to the inter-web. There have been so many events of upcoming models being leaked just ahead of their official reveals in recent times that, we do suspect that it could even the car makers themselves who might be indulging in such activities to create a buzz.
Uncovered by Dutch website Autoblog.nl, the all-new Mercedes SL adopts the German brand’s new styling philosophy, incorporating an upright grille with a large three-pointed star badge, bold headlights, flowing side panels and a muscular rear end. The front end especially appears to be influenced by the brand’s 2009 BlueZERO concept, while the profile takes its sporting lines from the SLS AMG Roadster.
The engine range will of course start with the same 3.5-liter 300 hp or so V6 unit as the SLK. But the one everyone will want is the top-of-the-range SL 63 AMG version with the new 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8.
New features to the 2012 SL-Class include the Front Bass audio system, which integrates subwoofers into the front foot-wells for high-quality top-down audio quality, and Magic Vision Control windscreen wipers, designed to limit overspray into the cabin.
The last generation of SL Class was built in 2003 which was to be stretched till 2011 and a facelift in 2008. The new generation of SL Class will be unveiled very soon but the brochures of the car are already available in the market.
