Tata Sumo Gold launched in Pune

Tata Motors on Thursday launched its revamped version of multi utility vehicle (MUV) Sumo as Tata Sumo Gold in Pune.

The vehicle, fitted with a new CR4 engine, which is also used in its pick-ups and LCVs, has been launched in four variants, each available in two versions — BS III or BS IV complaint. The price ranges between Rs 5.23 lakh and Rs 6.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has claimed that the mileage for the Sumo Gold is 14.07kmpl.

The new Sumo Gold is available in four variants – GX, EX, LX and CX, along with three years or 1,00,000km warranty. The new model has looks similar to the Sumo Victa, with the reworked headlights, fog lamps and tail lamp cluster. This model will compete with the recently launched facelifted Bolero in the entry level SUV segment.

This is Sumo's sixth upgraded model since its first launch in 1994. Currently, the company is running two shifts at its Bhosari plant.
