Suzuki to build automobile plant in Vietnam

Suzuki is planning to build an automobile plant in Vietnam looking at the growing needs of the automobile industry. The carmaker plans to manufacture 5,000 cars per annum as of now.

The company plans to invest 1 billion yen to set up the plant. Suzuki said it will try to start operation of the new plant in Dong Nai Province in 2013 to manufacture vehicles including compact cars for business use.

The Japanese automaker has been producing motorcycles and automobiles since 1996 in Vietnam and produced about 3,000 cars in the business year to March
