Introduction
i1 Super Series is a proposed single-make, single-seater sports car racing series. The inaugural series is planned for the 2011-12 season. The races will be held in India, Malaysia, Qatar, Thailand and the UAE.
Organizers
Organized by Machdar Motorsports which is owned by Anjana Reddy, the series is seeking sanction by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile(FIA) and the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI)
Format
The i1 Super Series will consist of 14 races. 9 teams representing different Indian cities will compete in the inaugural season to be held in 2011-2012 The teams will race with the Radical Sportscars' SR3 roadster in the single-make racing event.
Each team will be represented by two drivers. At least one driver for each team must be a certified Indian driver. Teams will compete for a USD 2 Million prize.
Superstars affair
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, Telugu hero Akkineni Nagarjuna and Dabur family scion Mohit Burman are among the celebrities and business honchos who will own a racing team in a motor sports league backed by Sachin Tendulkar, said sources directly briefed on the matter.

The series will take place in 5 venues at New Delhi, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Bahrain* Broadcast rights owned by Ten Sports. Each weekend will have 1 qualifying session and 2 races, making a total of 14 races in the championship. The car weighs 570 kg, goes 0-100 kmph in 3 seconds, has a top speed of 250 kmphSchedule
The first edition will hit the tracks on January 8 and conclude on February 26 next year.
