Ford develops glow-in-dark chrome - Mustang Pony Badge shown at 2011 SEMA show

Ford is developing glow-in-dark chrome designs for its cars and had examples on display at the 2011 SEMA Show. Ford says it is using the technique of Chrome backplating the clear badge which means the Badge will be clearly visible due to Chrome back plating technique.

This technique was on display at Ford's kiosk at 2011 SEMA show where seven different designed badges were used and the one and the best among them is Ford Mustand Pony badge as shown in the picture above.

Viewers were invited to vote on their favorite design. There is an option of no illumination too which means those who do not like Chrome Illumination can click on no illumination too.

A representative stated that Ford is working on developing engine covers with illuminated chrome "5.0" badging and trim, as well as other chrome accessories and may have the illuminated pony badges available for an upcoming 50th Anniversary Edition.
