US-based Allison Transmission on Tuesday inaugurated a 13,000sqm plant in the Hungarian city of Szentgotthárd

Nearly 200 customers, OEMs, Hungarian dignitaries and Allison workers celebrated the official opening of the Allison Transmission Hungary Manufacturing Facility in Szentgotthárd, Hungary. It was September 2010, when Allison first revealed its plans to construct the new Szentgotthárd manufacturing plant; and its transmission products are already being delivered to bus and truck OEMs throughout Europe as well as emerging markets.

Allison Transmission is an American manufacturer of commercial duty automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems. Allison products are specified by over 250 of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and are used in many market sectors including bus, refuse, fire, construction, distribution, military and specialty applications. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Allison Transmission has regional offices all over the world and manufacturing facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana and Szentgotthard, Hungary
