Mercedes-Benz launches new perfume for men



Mercedes-Benz will launch their debut fragrance for men in early 2012 under licensing arrangements with INCC Group. The perfume will to the already available accessories present in the market including eyewear, t-shirts, key chains, caps etc.

This new brand of perfume is called simply Mercedes-Benz Perfume for men and was recently launched at the TFWA World Exhibition event in Cannes. It will go into sales somewhere during the first four months of 2012. For the making of this fragrance Mercedes turned to the famous creator of perfumes Olivier Cresp. This new fragrance will be available for purchase as an after shave, shower and body gel, deodorant and eau de toilette.

Olivier Cresp was born in Grasse in 1955, to a family involved in the trade of raw materials for perfume (his sister is also perfumer : Françoise Caron). Cresp studied raw materials and flavors in the US at Biddle Sawyer before returning to France and joining De Laire, and later Quest. He has been with Firmenich since 1992.

Described as Innovative and unique, it is the first men’s fragrance from Mercedes-Benz and it combines woody notes with floral freshness. The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin. The middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass and patchouli. The bottle design is masculine, modern and elegant.
