GM to stop production of Chevy model in Mexico, to produce Sonic in place

General Motors de Mexico, the country's largest automaker said in a statement that it will stop the production of its Chevy Model which in other countries is sold under the name Corsa, instead the space in the plant will be utilized to manufacture Sonic in the plant.

GM also disclosed that it will firstly manufacture the vehicle "Sonic" only for the Mexican market however the car will later also be produced for South and Central American market. GM currently imports the Sonic vehicle from Bupyeong plant in South Korea but we are working on locally, the president and CEO of General Motors de Mexico Ernesto Hernandez said in a Company's statement.
