China launches first electric car BYD e6 for public

Chinese car maker BYD introduced the first electric car e6 to the Public on Wednesday. The car maker is backed  by the famous investor Warren Buffet and has 10% stake in the company. The car is priced at 300,000 Yuan ($46,750)

The five seater car's top speed is 140kmph and is equipped with 75Kw motor and an iron battery.

In December 2008, Warren Buffet spent $230 million buying up 10 percent stake in BYD. The detailed spec sheet from BYD is attached. Click on the image to see an enlarged view.
