Earlier, VW has provided some images of its cheapest car in VW family - "VW CROSS UP". Today at Frankfurt Motor show, the company has also unveiled the four door hathback version which will also be launched in India. The name cross is being added to five concept cars which have been showcased at the show. VW Cross UP being the only four door car among the five showcased concepts.

This is how the VW Cross UP will look like. VW has confirmed that it will not launch any of the three door cars in India because of the much needed rear seats in India because of rear seat sitting habits. VW UP as showcased has a full glass rear similar to Honda Brio. The full glass rear provides a clear vision of the back to the driver, claims VW. The car would be very competitively priced in India especially after VW decided to go alone for the VW UP car as earlier decided ton share the platform with Maruti Suzuki A-Star.
The specially developed variant for India of the car will be launched in 2012 and will take on Maruti A-Star Wagon-R, Honda Brio and Hyundai i10.
