Talks between Management and workers fail again, Workers threatened to go on Hunger strike on 28th Sep. 2011, VIDEO

Talks between Management and workers occurred amicably today but unfortunately no conclusion could be drawn to the 29 day strike which started at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant. This round of negotiation happened after one week of the previous talks. Inbetween, works refused to talk to the management. However, management also today refused to talk directly to the workers, and hence Maruti’s recognized union MUKU (Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union) negotiated on behalf of the agitated Manesar workers. According to the sources, fresh round of talks will initiate from tomorrow.

In the meantime, MUKU President Kuldeep Janghu said it has asked the management to try to resolve the issue at the earliest and the union will observe hunger strike on September 28 in support of colleagues at the Manesar plant.  Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) said it will hold a protest rally in front of the plant in solidarity with a agitators on Wednesday.

"The state government is not playing any active role... We have decided to express our solidarity with MSI workers at Manesar," Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Haryana State President Satvir Singh told PTI

Meanwhile, MSI said it hired 50 more temporary workers at the Manesar plant to ramp up the output further. It rolled out 700 units of its hatchback Swift today.  The total strength of trained technicians and engineers has now reached 1,000 mark.

Meanwhile, watch the recently interviewed Video of Mr. Tapan Sen, General Secretary, ," Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).
