The car which will be launched for the Indian market, is expected to also be sold in markets outside India, however the decision of when to start the exports has yet not been taken. The SUV has gathered huge fan following on the social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and on its own website, mahindraxuv500.com, the campaign by the company “Guess the price Contest” gained huge interest among the people and it was also declared that the first winner will get a brand new Mahindra XUV500 whereas other 20 winners will also get entry tickets for Formula 1 event to be held in Jaypee Sports Academy, Noida on 30th October 2011.
The XUV500 is expected in the price range of 1.2 million to 2.0 million, i.e. 12 Lac to 20 Lac Indian Rupees. The car boasts of a 2.2 Liter engine which will have a power of 140 bhp and peak torque of 326 Nm.
As tweeted by Mr. Anand Mahindra, Managing Director & Vice Chairman of Mahindra group has flown back to India from America and Europe to be a part of this grand event for which, everybody has been waiting since long. The contest ends finally and the car is ready for the launch in India.
