Mr. Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. who is often very active on Social networking sites especially LinkedIn, has finally announced the launch date of the SUV, the XUV5OO will now officially be launched on 28th September 2011.
Mr. Mahindra who had earlier announced that the winner of Guess the Mahindra XUV5OO price contest will get a tour across the Mahindra’s Chakan plant along with Brand new Mahindra XUV5OO. He has just tweeted officially that the winner of the contest is Mr. Akshay Kalyanpur.
Coming to much awaited launch of Mahindra XUV5OO, this is the first SUV to be launched on a monocoque platform. This is a Global Vehicle and will be sold across the world, ofcourse in India too with a 2.2 Litre CRDe turbo diesel engine with 140 bhp of peak power and 320Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5 and a 6 speed manual gearboxes while the SUV will be available in both 4x2 and 4X4 options.
