Maharastra Government has increased the limit of buying Luxury Cars for official use to Rs 15 lac from earlier Rs 7 Lac.
According to the minister, the Prithviraj government took the decision after some minister complained that the existing policy did not allow them to buy good sturdy cars which offers safety features like Airbags, ABS etc.
Maharastra Government appealed that they have to travel to distant corners of the state at night for official works and lack of safety features in cars lead to problems.
The officials are currently travelling in Honda City but now they are approved for SUV’s due to the increased limit. During Wednesday’s cabinet meeting, Mr. Prithviraj Chavan mentioned due to height even he finds it difficult to fit in Ambassador car.
