Toyota Etios diesel Indian car market launch in September 2011

Many have now asked the question because buying a sedan is what a lot of people have in their mind. It's the Toyota diesel Etios that everyone' been waiting for and if Twitter is your trusted stream, then a tweet from Hormazd Sorabjee should put all speculations at rest because this is what his tweet read. "Ok its confirmed Toyota Etios diesel coming in Sept. 1.4 diesel engine." "Etios diesel gets same 1.4 diesel as Altis but lower power and Fixed Geometry Turbo not variable like Altis".

Toyota India enjoyed a 99% sales growth rate by selling 13, 592 units July 2011 as compared to 6834 units in July 2010. Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, TKM , Mr. Sandeep Singh said, "The month of July has seen an impressive growth indicative of growing volumes and increasing sales of Toyota vehicles in India. The customer response to Etios and Etios Liva has been very good. We thank our customers for their trust in Toyota. Etios and Etios Liva sold 4095 units and 2551 units respectively, in July 2011. The New Corolla Altis has been received well, with the vehicle registering a growth of 22% with 1030 units sold in July 2011."
These figures speak volumes for the Etios and there's still no diesel variant. Preferences have been shifting rapidly and many are postponing purchases for want of a wider diesel product portfolio. The Etios has done well in India in its sedan and Liva hatchback avatar, and it's only right that their success is followed up with a diesel Toyota Etios .
