Skoda Laura RS to be launched in India on 31st August

Skoda Auto, a subsidiary of Europe based largest car maker Volkswagen, is gearing-up to boost its presence in the Indian market. The company has been working aggressively on its plans of enhancing its India portfolio to reach more and more Indian buyers.

Amidst the wide spread speculations of the launch of Skoda Fabia Scout, the company has officially said that it will roll-out two new car models in the country. The first one will be Skoda Laura RS, the much awaited facelift version of Laura model in the Indian market. The new Laura RS is expected to carry a number of cosmetic changes at both exterior and interior front. The new features of the car would include new interior and new alloy wheels.

Second will be the new entry-level sedan that will mark brand Skoda’s entry in the highly competitive starting range sedan segment. The new sedan will be launched in the price segment of Sub Rs 7 lakh, where it will be competing with the likes of Volkswagen Vento, Honda City, Maruti Swift Dzire and SX4, Hyundai Verna, Fiat Linea, Ford Fiesta and Toyota Etios.

Both of the cars are slated to be launched in the Indian market in the month of August. However, the company is yet to reveal the pricing and specification details of any of these two cars in the country.

The current line-up of brand Skoda in the Indian market include hatchback Fabia, premium sedans like Jetta and Passat and premium sports utility vehicle Skoda Yeti.
