Mitsubishi launches the Limited Edition of Outlander Chrome

Mitsubishi Outlander Chrome limited edition SUV

Japanese car maker, Mitsubishi Motors has launched a limited edition model of their SUV Outlander in India, christened as the Outlander Chrome Edition. The new features of Mitsubishi Outlander Chrome Edition includes larger rear spoiler, molding protection on the side, side air dam, roof mounted DVD player, floor illumination, door mirror cover with chrome plating and a few state of the art gadgets on the inside.

A diesel engine is what could revive the sales of the Mitsubishi Outlander and offering such special edition bits won’t matter much. Mitsubishi should also learn from their counterparts at Honda who are facing the same problem with the Honda CR-V. The CR-V has been doing similar numbers at the Mitsubishi Outlander. Last month Honda sold 41 units of the CR-V. The Japanese seem to be missing the point here. What the customers need is a diesel product.

Also, it will be better if Mitsubishi bring a diesel variant of the Outlander as soon as possible as they do have an advantage over the Honda CR-V when it comes to drivetrain. The Outlander has four-wheel drive  which the Honda lacks. The current Outlander has a 2.4 litre petrol engine with 170 PS and 226 Nm coupled to a INVECS-III CVT with 6-speeds.
