Mercedes Benz has finally unveiled the images of their much awaited 2012 B Class compact MPV/hatchback earlier today. Mercedes Benz will be launching 2012 B Class officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show which is scheduled to go live on the 13th of next month.
Mercedes Benz B Class will be first launched in the European market, both as a compact family car and as a hatchback. But the American car market will not be able to see the 2012 B Class before the end of this year.
The upright grille with the big three-pointed-star is what catches the eye. Mercedes- Benz is also thinking of introducing premium hatchbacks in India which makes this car a good contender. Given its minivan proportions, the car might offer descent space for the high price it might sell when it comes to India. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the other car the the German automaker might bring into India. The focus of most premium car makers these days has been on offering premium cars in the lower segments of the market.
In America, Mercedes Benz plans to launch the MPV and coupe variant of 2012 B Class while the hatchback variant is not going to be launched in US. Sadly, Mercedes Benz is yet to launch any of their B Class variants in India, so we do not know if the 2012 B Class will be arriving in India.
2012 Mercedes Benz B Class will be available in both diesel and petrol power options. In diesel, you have the 1.8L turbocharged variant which is available in two output options, 109 bhp and 136 bhp. For petrol powered variants, you have a 1.6L (generating 122 bhp) and a 2.0L (generating 156 bhp).
