The ticket sales for the Indian Grand Prix got off the blocks in a whirlwind fashion on Saturday, netting Rs 1 crore in revenue within hours of the launch. Around 2500 tickets were sold in the first three hours and the organisers expect a capacity crowd for the race day, October 30. In all, 98,000 tickets are up for grabs in a price range of Rs 2500 (Natural Stand) to Rs 35000 (Main Grand Stand).
The tickets were made available online through, with the fans having the option of choosing their preferred seat location. “Tickets will be sold in two phases,” said Sameer Gaur, CEO and MD of race organiser JPSI, at the launch of the ticket sale. “Tickets will be also be available at some outlets in metropolitan cities from the second phase,” he added.

Gaur also said all logistical arrangements had been made to ensure a full house at the Buddh International Circuit, including dedicated shuttle buses to ferry spectators from specific points to the track which is nearly 50km from the heart of New Delhi.
