Force Motors has revealed the launch date of Force One - its August 19, 2011

The company is betting big on its foray into passenger car market by launching its first ever Passenger vehicle "Force One". I am sure all time Wheelomania readers must be knowing the details of the car in and out, but let me get more close to the car this time.

Force One boasts of a 2.2 L engine with an output of 140 PS @ 3800 RPM along with 315 Nm@ 16--02400 RPM. This is not the only thing about Force One, yes you are right the car shares its engine with Daimler. The same engine is offered in Mercedes C-Class with two different output.

Not just Daimler, the car also boasts of Lotus Engineering with its hands on its fine tuned suspension system. Its front suspension has an independent double wishbone and a coil spring with gas-charged telescopic shock absorbers, as well as an anti-roll bar. Its rear suspension comprises of a multi-link with pan hard rod & coil spring with gas-charged telescopic shock absorbers as well as an anti-roll bar.

It will also feature 16 inch alloy wheels and a high ground clearance to make it off-road ready. Both 4×2 and 4×4 versions will be presented, but the latter might not enter the market immediately. The interiors boast of leather seats and faux wood finish to give it a plush feel. It will also feature driver information system, cruise control, audio control mounted on steering, electric outside mirrors & dual AC vents.

The expected price of the Force one is going to be around 11-13 lakhs. The Force One will compete against Mahindra Scorpio and the soon to be launched Tata Safari Merlin. The company expects to sell 4,000 units a year, which is a very optimistic goal.

Are you geared up for the launch ?
