Force Motors Launches SUV "FORCE ONE" in presence of Amitabh Bachchan

Force Motors has launched its much awaited SUV named “Force One”. The SUV was inaugurated in presence of the actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Force Motors' Personal Vehicles Division will make its foray with 22 dealerships to begin with as the vehicle hits showrooms from 1st September. 

The SUV is equipped with a 2.2L engine made by Daimler(makers of Mercedes Benz) and the tuned by Lotus Engineering which are the synonym of tuning cars for F1. This proves Force One to be one of finely tuned vehicles. The Force One SUV is re-badged version of the Chinese Ford Explorer, which is known in those quarters as the Guangdong Foday Explorer III. The car will make use of auto parts bought in from Korea and China.

“Daimler has licensed the technology to Force for an MPV. This comprehensive supply of product technology will facilitate the entry of Force into the segment of passenger and goods vehicles, which is adjacent to its current product line of the ‘Traveller' light commercial vehicles,” a company statement said.

Force Motors has made a 600-800 crore financial commitment for the Force One SUV project, and the vehicle is being manufactured at Pithampur, MP. The Force One SUV will compete with the Skoda Yeti, Tata Aria, and Ford Endeavour.  Being positioned above the Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio, this SUV will give you what you have come to expect from this range. The company is expected to produce approximately 24,000 vehicles per annum.

Currently the vehicle will be available only as a 4x2 but will be offered in a 4x4 version by March 2012. A version with ABS and airbags too will be offered by 2013. Importantly, a stripped down version of the vehicle will be offered by next year to make the vehicle highly competitive in the Indian market. The company plans to enhance the number of dealerships from 22 currently to 44 by mid-2012
