Volkswagen wants to tap possible synergies between its truck units MAN and Scania as well as the passenger car business, weekly Focus said, citing Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn.
Volkswagen this month said it had clinched a 55.9 percent stake in MAN, its second major industry holding after Swedish truckmaker Scania.
"There are big potential synergies here," Winterkorn said. He added some driving assistance and security features installed on MAN and Scania trucks could also be offered at lower cost to Volkswagen's passenger cars.
