Tata Magic Iris(LCV) spied on the outskirts of Pune

Tata Motors hasn’t just tried to make changes that yield result in the passenger car industry but have keep a close eye with what the country needs in terms of light commercial vehicles, the very bane of Indian transportation. Though it may not seem worth a glance when one zips past in their car but the innumerable shared auto rickshaws that ply on the outskirts and connect villages along national highways is something the country can’t do without.

The new Tata Iris was seen doing its rounds in the outskirts of Pune and did a good run at 40 kmph. Touted to be a new age rickshaw, the Tata Magic Iris by Tata Motors will certainly be another boost in the arm of public transport options. Not to be introduced through a pan India launch, the Tata Magic Iris has already begun its journey in some cities.
The Tata Magic Iris uses a 611cc, water cooled indirect injection diesel engine. This 4-speed manual transmission produces 11 BHP of power and can attain top speed of 60 kmph.  Tata Magic Iris can seat five including a driver. The diesel auto will go 25 kmpl, and one can expect a CNG powered Tata Magic Iris priced at about Rs 2 lakhs in some time.
