Raba unit signs contract to supply FS Fehrer with HUF 1 bn in parts annually

The parts unit of Hungarian vehicle and vehicle-parts maker Raba has signed a contract with German automobile interior-component maker FS Fehrer Automotive to provide the company with HUF 1 billion in metal parts for elbow rests annually between 2012 and 2019, Raba announced on Monday.
Raba said that the company's parts unit has installed new machinery at its plant in Gyor (NW Hungary) to produce the elbow-rest parts and would expand the plant and hire new workers as a result of the contract.
The statement noted that Raba won support to the investments from the economic development operative program.

Raba and FS Fehrer have been cooperating since March 2009, when the companies established a JV to make automotive foam. Raba owns 30% of the JV, while FS Fehrer owns 70% of the company.
FS Fehrer serves as a supplier to major automobile manufacturers including VW, Audi, Skoda, BMW, Daimler, Suzuki, PSA and Renault.
